TCAPS Pre-Bond Survey Needs Your Involvement!
TCAPS Board of Education needs your input on this TCAPS pre-bond survey so as to make the best possible decisions regarding our facilities. It is our hope that you will take the time to respond in support of all things that will impact you! Most of us in TCAPS music understand that TCAPS music is at the very top-statewide and nationally when it comes to staff and students and the level of music they produce. However, the facilities that we have available to TCAPS music are not up to the standards of many smaller, downstate schools. The facilities do not represent the quality that is consistently delivered every year. Currently, to patch this need we pay for performance venues that are larger such as St. Francis, Corson Auditorium (Interlochen) and others to have whole program performances. We also accommodate this effort by having multple concert nights so that all families have necessary seating available. We simply cannot accommodate the number of students and families of our school let alone the whole district. Having performance space with capacity (and parking) is essential for us to continue to effectively support these annual-top performing students and staff! The only way the Board of Education will know about this is if we write. Please consider filling out the TCAPS pre-bond survey. Because there is not really an area in this survey focused on the full details of facilities outside of Central Grade School, we would ask that you use the "other" section to share your thoughts on supports for TCAPS music performance space that can house our fantastic bands, orchestras, choirs and theatre. This would also allow for full district performances and collaborations as well. You can also send an email response to the email listed at the end of the survey at TCAPS2024Bond@DHAE.com

TCAPS MEDIA~ Academic Communities: Art
This video clip provided by TCAPS Media features Mr. Wangeman our Academic Communities~ART; Relationships
Wangeman sighting!
Some of the students at West were finally able to slow Mr. Wangeman down enough to get this classic image. Mr. Wangeman and his "beanie" basses! Many of these students have had Mr. Wangeman for 6 years of music dating back to their middle school days!
Our Choral Program
TC West continues to be a program that strives to set the standard in choral music for the state of Michigan. With a wonderful K-12 music curriculum, as part of TCAPS school district, West choirs and ensembles repeatedly represent TC West High School and Middle School at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival and Michigan Music Conference. This program does so due to its wonderful students and fabulous directors but also with the constant support of parents, family and community.
Our TCAPS: Music is Community
The TCAPS Board of Education was pleased to honor the music department last night for their creativity, talent, and dedication to their art and education. Please join us in celebrating our music students and staff!
