Special congratulations goes to Audrey Michael! Audrey was selected to perform among the top 10 soloists in the state of Michigan. Of that top 10, Audrey was selected as a Top 3 Soloist (2nd place). We are all so proud of your hard work and accomplishments!
Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan's Concert of the Finalists!
Traverse City West Choirs was again well represented at yet another vocal music competition! This past Sunday, May 1st it was the Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan's Concert of the Finalists! This performance was held at Italian American Cultural Society of Clinton Township. TCAPS was well represented with 6 of the finalists! MSVMA ALL STATE Festival Solo & Ensemble News!
MSVMA State & Solo ensemble was a couple of weeks ago and we have just learned the final results of the statewide selection for MSVMA All-State Festival Solo & Ensemble. TCAPS came away with 4 large-ensembles, 2 soloists and 1 duet selected for this prestigious honor. These students will represent TCAPS at Michigan State University on May 13th where all large-ensembles, small-ensembles and soloists selected will perform! Congratulations to those Central and West Ensembles and soloists!

Mr. Wangeman, MSVMA~ TEACHER OF THE YEAR!
(posted on TCAPS Facebook Page) Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) is excited to announce that Erich Wangman has been named the 2022 Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) Teacher of the Year!
Requirements for this recognition include MSVMA membership, teaching a minimum of 15 years – 10 of which must be on the secondary level in Michigan, demonstrating consistent excellence in performance, and being influential in creating a love and understanding of music for the masses. He is the current choral teacher at Traverse City West Senior High School (TCAPS) and Traverse City West Middle School - TCAPS, and has been with TCAPS for nearly 10 years.
